I found this table in an antique store and my parents have an end table similar. I'm not sure if it is really Art Deco or a reproduction. Are there any tips anyone can give to help me? It is a coffee table with a blue mirror top. The mirror has lines etched in it about an inch from the sides forming a design. The wood has been painted so I cannot identify the wood. It does need work, but I am willing to restore if it is authentic. Thank you for your help!

Art Deco - Where, when, why it started, just needing a fwe facts on art deco about what it is and why it started etc

Art Deco was a popular international art design movement from 1925 until 1939. Was there an art design movement before that, and if so, what was it called? My house was built in 1922 and I'm trying to find a decorating/remodeling theme.
Art Noveau.......did a little research and the first thing that comes to my mind is the movie "Titanic". Am I on the right track? After a long work week I don't feel very sharp or creative, so I really appreciate the input!
